Cleaning your kitchen may seem like a challenging job. However, if you know the step by step manner and have some good music to keep you company, you will be done quicker than you actually thought. Remember, once you break the big daunting task into smaller manageable sections, your work will not only become a lot easier, but also efficient. Here are the steps you need to take to get your kitchen clean and shiny.

Step 1: Start With the Stove

Stoves need to be cleaned every now and then. If you have the standard gas oven, you can easily remove the burners and wash them. One of the best ways to do this is to fill your sink with hot water and a few drops and detergent and drop the burners as well as the control knobs in them. While the burners are soaking, use a sponge and detergent or soap to wipe the surface of the stove. Once you have rid yourself of the stubborn stains (10-15mins), return to the sink and wash the burners. You can scrub these with a sponge if there are stains that refuse to go.

Step 2: Clean Out the Fridge

Next, you need to ensure that your fridge is free from all rotting food or cartons of milk that have outlived their date. It is a good idea to do this before you go grocery shopping because if you mix the new things with the food that has gone bad, the fresh items will go bad as well. Also, when you are serious about kitchen cleaning, you must make a paste of baking soda and water and clean the entire fridge with this. Simply take out everything from the fridge, soak a sponge in the baking soda solution and wipe the racks and cabinets thoroughly. However, if your cabinets are really dirty, you can also remove them from the fridge and wash them separately in the sink.

Step 3: Clean Cabinets and Countertops

For a really clean kitchen, you also need to look inside your cabinets. Often times, lentils and spices contain small flies which come into existence because the food has expired. These flies and organisms will spread quickly if not dealt with and this is why you need to take everything out from the cabinet and throw anything out which has expired or gone bad. Once you have removed everything, clean the inside as well as the outside with a wet and soapy rag. However, be careful to dry the inside of the cabinet before you place your food items inside again.

For clean countertops, you must ensure that you wipe them down every night before going to bed. Depending on the kind of cooking you have done for the day, you can either use simple plain water for this or soapy water.

Step 4: Pay Attention to the Sink

Before you move on to the final step, turn to the sink to make it sparkling clean. If you have a dishwasher, load all your dishes into it and wash otherwise clear the sink by washing them by hand. Next, wipe the basin and all its fixtures with warm soapy water. For hard to reach places, use an old toothbrush.

Step 5: Finish Up

Finally, once you have taken care of everything in the kitchen, you need to sweep and dust the floor. If you have done this daily, your kitchen cleaning will be a lot easier. However, if you have left this part out for a few days, you will also need to mop the floor to remove any stains that may have set in.

After you have finished cleaning, wash your garbage can with soap and water, dry it, replace the bag and viola, you are all done.
